No Baby Yet :0(

I went to the doctor today and had hoped he would strip my membranes......unfortunatly he refused....bummer. Gabe was born at 36 weeks 6 days and Ethan was born at 37 weeks, so I figured 37 weeks 3 days was pretty reasonable. I tried every arguement I could think of but he wouldn't budge....he did say I could come in on Tuesday at 7:30 AM and he would do it then. He is a little ditzy and will be coming off of working nights on Labor and Delivery so I'm kind of guessing he will forget.....so I'm not holding my breath.

I haven't been truley uncomfortable until the last couple of days. My heartburn has gotten really bad and he is pushing on my cyatic nerve so my leg has been going numb...fun, fun...gotta love motherhood :0)

I'll keep everyone posted...please pray for a safe, uneventful and painless (yeah, right) delivery.

Heather

P.S. I wouldn't be quite so antsy, but 2 weeks ago he tried to make a surprise apperance. I had regular contractions for several house and the hospital gave me some shots to stop them. I am already at a 2, 50% effaced (sp?) and a -2 station....what a little teaser!!

Fourth of July

Post fireworks from our garage.

Nancy and Ryan brought Sparklers, which are now the kids favorite firework right up there with "poppers".

Gabe enjoying fireworks a whole lot more then last year!!

Sam and Ethan have just figured out "getting married". They are now realizing that they can't marry me and have been wondering who they will marry. Ethan decided he might marry Jillian Kules. She's pretty darn cute and we like her parents so I guess I'm okay with that ;)

Waiting for the fireworks. Even with two goalies the boys are no match for Mr. Ryan's "mad skills".

The Fourth of July is a huge deal around our house. The boys dream about fireworks from July 5th on, and cannot wait until the next celebration. We started our fourth cleaning and getting ready for our friends the Kules to come over. When they got here at 3ish, the boys were nearly bursting with excitement for the day.

We got our food ready (hamburgers, hot dogs, potato salad, coleslaw, watermelon, baked beans, apple pie, brownies, corn on the cob, pitas and dip, etc.) and sat down to eat outside just as a massive thunderstorm started to roll into the area. The clouds looked ominous and we could hear the low rumble of thunder in the distance. The lifeguard in me quickly moved my babies into the house to finish their meals (I'm pretty sure the other adults thought I was a bit loony). Sam and I turned on the television to check on the weather. The first scene to pop up was a policeman talking about how they were clearing the national mall and that there were tornado sightings in the county. Well if you know Sam (and his mother) you know that this didn't sit very well with us. I immediately had Greg clear out some interior closets, "just in case". This also got some "your crazy" looks from the other three clear thinking adults. Luckily after all was said and done, we never saw even a drop of rain, the storms blew over and we got to continue with our Independence day plans.

At about 7:30 we started lighting the HUGE box of fireworks we purchased at Costco as well as the Sparklers, fireworks and "pops" the Kules brought. Thanks to the "men" we had a wonderful two hour show. They finished their grand finale just as post started their fireworks. We had the perfect seats! We were able to sit in our garage and witness quite a show.

The boys all agreed this was the best fourth EVER and are already talking about next year.
Hope everyone else had a great Independence Day with friends and family as we did. Hope you also took a moment to be thankful for everything we have in our wonderful country!
